Iperu Community Agog As Vine Crest College Opens

The Iperu community in Ogun State was agog over the weekend as the Vine Crest College was officially commissioned by the Bishop, Methodist Diocese of Remo Central, Rt. Reverend Gboyega Ohu.

At the event that attracted eminent sons and daughters of the community from within and beyond, Lord Bishop Ohu prayed for the spiritual protection and sustenance of the excellent learning infrastructure at the college off the Iperu/Ode Remo road.

Mrs. Oluwatoyin Phillips, the Executive Director of the school, told parents of the pioneer students of the college and guests that the coming of the college was a fulfilment of her lifelong desire to establish a quality secondary school where young leaders will be trained and nurtured into responsible adults.

“As an educationist, my desire to establish a quality school has been lifelong. The desire kept popping up on my front burner. I kept thinking of a quality school that will boast of good infrastructure, a serene environment, relevant resources, technology-enhanced teaching and learning, professional teaching and support staff who are constantly exposed to good training and development.

  “Vine Crest College is established at this time out of a passion to give back to the society to leave a legacy, it is the evidence of our heart for service to our country to help prepare citizenry with an informed conscience, love of God and primed to make the world a better place,” she added.

Mrs. Phillips, who is a former Principal of topmost schools like The Bells Comprehensive College, Ota; Atlantic Hall School, Epe and the Trinity International College, Ofada, Ogun State assured Nigerians of her commitment to operate a quality school, saying that the already established standards and discipline will not be compromised.

She added: “We promise to do all that we can so that we do not disappoint or take you for granted at any time and in any way”.

Pastor Femi Faseru of Kingsway International Christian Centre in a sermon tagged; “Force of Vision” identified four cardinal points of vision as; who you are sent to, who sent you, what you are sent to do and when you are supposed to achieve.

Describing the college as a solution centre, Pastor Faseru urged the Executive Director not to slow down, saying that God has equipped her enough to understand and deliver unbeatable standard to guardians and parents that seek quality future for their wards.

The highlight of the ceremony is the rendition of special songs by the pioneers of the college and tour of facilities by guests and parents.

    I want to bring my 2 girls (JSS 2/SS1) to your school. They’re presently in Nigeria for 2 weeks now and we already prepared their minds of going to school in Nigeria. I need to find out the following;
    Do you have foreign schooled students, if yes, how do you test them considering the differences in syllabus/curriculum. Also, what’s your tuition like?
    Your timely response will be greatly appreciated. I’m mainly looking for
    Discipline, spirituality, academics, social connections, moral and generally a place to shapen them as responsible adults
